In childhood, we all ate a toffee like Bambaiya Mithai, hawa mithai, old man's hair called sugar candy. It was light pink and white with some beautiful strips on shape in color and dissolved as soon as it was put in the mouth.



Now  Bambaiya Mithai seller are not more  seen on street , but still the sweetness of bambaiya Mithai remember by our tonhue. Let us learn how to make bambaiya Mithai. This is called sugar candy.


Sugar Candy was discovered in Asian in the 19th century. At that time it used to be a very expensive thing and ordinary people used to buy it outside the bus. The reason was that it took a lot of hard work to make it and it was made with fully a manual effort.

No one know about the discoverer of this sugar candy (Bambaiya Mithai ) , the sweet from Bombay. Candy maker design a various shape to attract the children for eating . Sometime they give some extra candy ( Ghaluwa ) .

The Bambaiya Mithai is pure 98% sugar. The remaining 2% are food coloring and some flavors. Actually, these are just fine fibers of sugar.


During the making there is no need of any special type of machine , only man power used to create a chewing , colour Full strips . After making a candy pasted on bamboo sticks in such way to protect the candy from excess heat .


Selling Bambaiya Mithai is a good business at 1990s from which you can make a good profit. But now very less seller of these candies in India.
