India -China relationship in Textile Industry || Tindit India

Cotton and yarn exports from India to China have stalled due to the outbreak of the Corona virus and the import of chemical materials and accessories items used in the textile industry has not been affected, affecting the domestic textile industry. Traders say that the cost of domestic textile industry has increased due to non-import of chemicals and accessories items from China, which can make textile costlier in the coming days.

Sanjay Jain, former president of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), told IANS that the processing cost of the domestic textile industry would increase by 10 per cent, which would increase the cost of fabric in the coming days. According to traders, increasing the cost of the domestic textile industry will increase the price of ready-made clothes and apparel, which may affect the export of Indian products in the coming days.

Although India does not export finished textiles to China, but China is a big buyer of Indian cotton and yarn, but the outbreak of Corona virus has stalled exports of these products. Although Vardhman Textiles Vice President Lalit Mahajan says the impact of corona virus spread in China on Indian cotton and textiles industry, corona virus spread in China will have a negative impact in the short term, but it can be seen in the long term.
