NavIC : Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System

NavIC : Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System develop by our most reputed organization ISRO.this project is provided a real time positioning.

At present 8 Satellites working on it, ISRO is planning to increase a navigation expansion by more Satellite.

Why the needs of NavIC Project

In 1999, During Kargil war our Indian Army required an information about the position of enemy, Army used an American GPS for Navigation, which is not so reliable at the time of war, After lots of research govt finally decided to have proposed a project NavIC in May 2013.

Now at present time, NavIC is functioning for military as well as Commercial purpose. Overall cost of the project is estimated around 14.2 billion and working in the range of 1500 km (Planning to expansion of range)
