Embroidery Techniques || Tindit India ||

Embroidery is the craft of decoratine Fiber or other materials using a needle to apply threads yarns.  Embroidery may also incorporate other materials such as mirror, peals and beads. In modern days, embroidery is usually seen on caps, hats, coats, blankets, dress shirts, denim, dresses, stockings. Embroidery is available with a wide variety of threads color.
Some of the basic techniques or stictes of the earliest embroidery are chain stictes, blanket stictes, running  stictes, cross stictes . List of the Different Embroidery techniques use in  practices in india.

1.Chikankari is a traditional embroidery style from Lucknow,  Uttar Pradesh India. Literally translated, the word means embroidery, and it is one of Lucknow's best known textile decoration styles.


2. Kantha is a type of embroidery craft in the eastern regions of the Indian subcontinent, specifically in Bangladesh and in the Indian states of West Bengal, Tripura and Odisha. In Odisha, old saris are stacked on each other and hand-stitched to make a thin piece of cushion.



3. Phulkari refers to the folk embroidery of the Punjab. Although Phulkari means floral work, the designs include not only flowers but also cover motifs and geometrical shapes.The main characteristics of Phulkari embroidery are use of darn stitch on the wrong side of coarse cotton cloth with coloured silken thread. 

4. Zardozi or Zar-douzi, also Zardosi, work is a type of embroidery in Iran, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Turkey, Central Asia, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Zardozi comes from two Persian words: zar or zarin meaning 'gold', and dozi meaning 'sewing'. 





5. Rajasthani Patchwork or "pieced work" is a form of needlework that involves sewing together pieces of fabric into a larger design.





6. Kasidakari is the Punjabi and Hindi name for needlework. It is also known as Kashidakari. This art is practiced in many regions in India like Punjab, Kashmir, Bihar and Karnataka. In Karnataka, it is referred to as 'kasuti'. Generally, kasidakari is passed as an art form from mother to her child. 



7. Aari(Gujrat) work embroidery uses beads and stones to create a sparkling effect on the garments. These embellishments are placed in such a way that they create an intrinsic web like pattern to create an intrinsic look. Aari work is more of thread and needle work; however, stones and other embellishments are used to add richness to the embroidery. Aari work is considered appropriate for all seasons as it can be done on velvet, silkcotton, cotton silk, chanderi, and many other fabrics. This makes Aari embroidery products suitable for people of all demographics. Hand embroidery Aari work is used to create intricate designs all over the garment or on certain parts of the product to enhance its look.
